THE CAPEVERDIAN ISLANDS

Life is good on Capeverde
Life is good on Capeverde
The Capeverdian Islands are seen by many as an unknown archipelago west of DAKAR (SENEGAL). These fantastic islands however, have since long outgrown the stage of a primitive development country. You will come to know it as an archipelago, which offers various holiday options.

Sal en Boavista
The islands Sal and Boavista have already westernized to the extent that there is hardly anything left of the original Capeverdian culture. They are laid out for mass-tourism and very suitable for beach and surf-holidays. Large hotels and a few small Capeverdian pensions offer good accommodation.

MAJOR CITIES ON CAPEVERDE
The cities Praja and Mindelo, the capitals of Santiago and São Vincente offer some touristic Capeverdian culture, but crime is increasing here as well. This is partly caused by the clash of African and Western culture.

SANTIAGO AND SÃO VINCENTE
Contrary to São Vincente, the island Santiago has more to offer for tourists. Just like Sal and Boavista, both islands are being transformed towards mass-tourism.

SÃO NICOLAU AND SANTO ANTÃO
On São Nikolau and Santo Antão you will really get a taste Capeverdian culture. These are two beautiful islands, very suitable for short or long hikes.
